Actor Entrepreneurs is about giving the power back to Actors.

Let's face it, acting is a fantastic art form but a really tough business. The facts:

 

• There are more actors than there are jobs

• To cope with this massive amount of people there is a whole system of 'gate keepers' in place to keep you out

• First you need to get an agent (which isn't always easy to do)

• Then the agent has to get you seen by the casting directors (who are there to screen you out)

• After getting through those hurdles then you have to audition for directors, producers etc. who are all weeding through countless numbers of people for every job.

The odds are clearly stacked against you. Many actors spend years trying to negotiate their way through this system. Some make it, and some don't.

But is there another way?

What if you could create your own work? What if you could scratch your own creative itch? Don't wait for your dream role to fall into your lap - create it yourself! Build your own shopwindow and show the industry what you can do.

Did you set out to be an actor to connect with agents and casting directors or did you set out to be an actor to connect with audiences? Most actors love to act. To tell stories. To make people laugh, cry, think new thoughts and experience new feelings.

Well, guess what? There is a way you can bypass the gatekeepers and speak directly to your audience!

Is it easy? No.

 

Is it fulfilling? Hell yeah!

How's this for a new approach. Instead of chasing after a limited number of auditions, you do interesting things, create your own projects, do good work, and develop a following. It's possible that if you create enough buzz around yourself then the agents and casting directors you have been chasing after will come to you instead! Which is a much better place to be in. If you spent your time, energy and resources building You Inc to the point where it is such a sexy, desirable brand, you can bet that industry people will be beating a path to your door.
